01

The Start

January 2026. Five co-trustees, one shared question- why not build something and run it properly, from day one?

02

Settling

The model took shape: one sponsor, one child, one verified meal a day. A kitchen partner chosen for their craft, not convenience. A coordinator hired whose whole job is making sure the promise is kept, not just made.

03

Today

21 children, one community, fully covered before we move to the next. Every rupee tracked. Every promise checked.

Four Steps. No Guesswork.

How It Works

This is the short version. Every one of these steps is something we can walk you through in full, not because you asked, but because a promise you can't inspect isn't much of a promise.

Assigned

Every sponsorship is matched to one specific child, never pooled into a general fund. From the moment your first payment clears, that child is yours to support for as long as your sponsorship continues, and no one else's donation is mixed with theirs.

Delivered

There's no drop-off point, no middle layer. Someone from Bhojan Amrit carries the meal directly into the community and places it in the child's hands themselves, every single day.

Cooked

A dedicated kitchen partner, chosen because cooking at scale, safely and well, is their actual craft, prepares wholesome, home-style vegetarian meals: dishes like rajma chawal, kadhi chawal, and chole chawal, packed hygienically for same-day delivery.

Verified

This is the step most programs skip. Our coordinator doesn't just confirm delivery, they confirm the meal was actually eaten by the child it was meant for. Nothing about your sponsorship is left to assumption.

"What am I really giving back? That question is the reason Bhojan Amrit exists."

WHY "BHOJAN AMRIT"

The Story Behind the Name

Food was always our starting point, that was never in question. But we wanted a name people across India would understand without explanation. "Bhojan" does that. In almost every Indian home, it means one thing: food, a meal, nourishment. Warm, familiar, belonging to everyone.

But we didn't want to stop at the plate. We kept asking a harder question: what does this meal actually mean to a child who goes without? After air and water, food is the next thing a body needs to survive. To a hungry child, a meal isn't just something to eat. It's life itself. In our tradition, there's a word for that which gives life: Amrit. Nectar. The essence that sustains and renews.

Bhojan Amrit. Two words that say everything: a humble meal, given with care, is nothing less than nectar to the child who needs it. That's also where our logo comes from, a golden drop of nectar falling into a bowl held between a boy and a girl, cradled by the hands of those who give. No long explanation needed.

Our Values

WHAT WE WON'T COMPROMISE ON

Dignity first

No child we serve is ever treated as a statistic or a photo opportunity.

One promise at a time

We complete a community before starting the next, no child left half-served while we chase growth.

Nothing left to assumption

If we say a meal was delivered, it was verified, in person, the same day.
