Donor Privacy, Terms & Refund Policy

Your Privacy
Bhojan Amrit Foundation treats every donor’s personal and financial information as confidential. We collect only what’s needed to process your donation and keep you informed: your name, contact details, and payment information, handled through our payment partner, not stored directly on our own systems. We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information to any third party. You may choose to give anonymously, and you may opt out of communications from us at any time by emailing us directly.

What We Collect and Why
We collect the information you provide when donating (name, email, phone, donation amount) to issue receipts, keep you updated on the child you’re sponsoring, maintain accurate records, and meet our legal reporting obligations as a registered nonprofit. We do not track or collect personal information from visitors who are simply browsing our website.

Payment Security
Donations are processed through HDFC Bank’s payment gateway, a PCI-DSS compliant platform. Bhojan Amrit does not store your card details on our own servers at any point.

Donor Rights
As a donor, you can expect to be told how your donation is used, to know who sits on our board, to receive our most recent available financial reporting, to be thanked and acknowledged appropriately, to have your information handled confidentially, and to ask us questions and receive honest, direct answers. If you’d like your name removed from any mailing list, or your data corrected or deleted, contact us and we’ll act on it, except where we’re legally required to retain certain records.

Refund Policy
If a donation was made in error, or you wish to cancel a recent gift, contact us at [your donation/support email] as soon as possible after the transaction. The Bhojan Amrit Foundation will respond within 7 working days from the date we receive your request. The timing of the actual refund will depend on the payment method used. If an 80G tax receipt has already been issued for the donation, that receipt must be returned or voided before a refund can be processed, and once a tax exemption certificate has been issued, a refund may no longer be possible under applicable tax rules. International donations, once accepted, may require additional working days to process.

How Sponsorship Donations Are Used
Funds donated toward child sponsorship are used to cover the cost of that child’s daily meal and the operational work of delivering and verifying it. Any surplus at the end of a program cycle is redirected toward feeding more children, not held for unrelated use.

Communications
By donating, you agree to receive donation confirmations, receipts, and updates about the child you’re supporting via email, SMS, or WhatsApp. You can unsubscribe from non-essential communications (newsletters, updates) at any time by emailing us, while still receiving your receipts and any legally required correspondence.
